Laser deposit welding allows repair work, wear resistance can be improved, small design modifications can be realized and manufacturing faults can be corrected. All this can be done with an excellent quality and flexibility which can only be achieved by laser technology.
The laser beam brings a manually added filler wire in a precise and high-strength connection with the workpiece. Application areas with wire diameters of 0.1 mm to 0.8 mm can be realized. The clearly low heat input, the high heating-up and cooling-down speeds, the exact control of laser beam energy by pulse forming – all together provide minimum thermal load of the workpiece. Compared to other methods, the micro structural transformation in the workpieces is clearly lower.
